About
External solid wall insulation is a fantastic way of increasing the energy efficiency of your property.
Insulating your solid walls could cut your heating costs considerably, because solid walls let through twice as much heat as cavity walls do. The good news is they can be insulated.
If your home was built before 1919, its external walls are probably solid rather than cavity walls. Cavity walls are made of two layers with a small gap or ‘cavity’ between them. Solid walls have no gap, so they let more heat through.
Increase the value of your home
The insulation can improve the appearance of your home (especially if you are replacing pebble dash!), and of course the value.
Solid wall insulation stops penetrating damp
Exterior Wall Insulation adds a new weatherproof layer on the outside of the building, and slows the movement of heat through the walls. Another advantage is that it will cause the temperature of the walls themselves to rise. This means if there is lots of water vapour in the air (from cooking or washing for example), this will no longer condense on these walls.
It can also really help reduce noise entering the home.
If you live on a busy road, exterior wall insulation might just be the thing you need.

Projects
This was one of our solid wall insulation projects.
This customer’s house had a combination of gloomy old pebbledash and stained paintwork. The reasons for insulating here was twofold: increasing warmth whilst smartening up the exterior.
This installation brought a few challenges for us to overcome. Firstly, we had to extend a long gas run (we only ever use Gas Safe engineers), which meant altering the pipework all the way around from the meter to the rear 1st floor point where the pipe entered the wall. A whole days work for our engineer.
Although the customer’s porch was not rendered as part of the external wall insulation system, she wanted it to match the rest of the house. We mixed paint of the same colour as the render and applied that. Render and paint can never be matched exactly because they are different materials and textures, but it was a pretty close match.
The end result was a great improvement – both aesthetically and structurally.
What others say about us
A. WallisColdeanI would like to express my gratitude for your staff’s professionalism. They were both pleasant & very efficient keeping any mess to a minimum. I am very happy with the job. Please pass my thanks on to them.
Anna RiosRottingdeanWe were very impressed with the whole process and it makes a huge difference on the heating of the house. We were also surprised how much street noise it keeps out. I noticed this straight away. I have already mentioned you to a couple of work colleagues and given them your web address
Max WiśniewskiBrightonThere is a noticeable difference within the house, heat is kept out for longer during the day and it is most definitely warmer in the house in the morning. Last few days have been 13-14 °C at dawn and inside of house is still 19-20 °C, so we are looking forwards to being much warmer this coming winter and saving on our heating bills and the Environment. Please pass on our recommendation to other customers.
Heather MilsWorthingI am very happy with the effects on my house. During warm weather, the insulated rooms take much longer to heat up, so for the first couple of hot days they remain much more comfortable than before. During cooler nights, the bedroom doesn’t chill off enough to wake me, as it did before. An unexpected bonus is that the insulated rooms are much quieter. Overall, I’m very happy with the result and recommend it.
